Wild how the queer community has been fighting tooth and nail for generations to have some semblance of inclusion and just the desire to not be beaten, arrested, or killed for existing.
Then there is less than 10 years of policies put in place to help us start being treated more humanely and the Conservative party is like “Actually we rather you die again” openly and proudly.
Wild how allowing ppl to live has made them so angry and more open about their fascism.
Meanwhile half of the younger queers online are too preoccupied with terminology and gatekeeping fandom engagement while our country actively works to eradicate the community honing social media to propagate propaganda.
It is going to sound mean and im not gonna sugarcoat it:
Telling other lgbtqia members that using the term “queer” is problematic and bad is more aligned with conservative’s views of hiding and destroying queerness. When you get that gatekeeping towards your own community you are making it easier to break us apart.
They aren’t going to stop with “don’t say gay”, they aren’t going to stop with “no trans healthcare”, they aren’t going to stop with bathrooms or sports teams or “parental rights”. They want to revoke your marriage, they want to take away your kids, they want to fire you for being gay, they want to arrest you for being GNC, they want to re-educate you for being ace, they want you poor, homeless, despairing and dead–and they want all that as an example to the next generation of queer people, so they stay closeted and paranoid.
And if they get everything on that wish list, they’ll come for more. You’re not safe as a rich white gay man; you’re not safe as a middle-class femme lesbian; you’re not safe as a “passing” transperson with all your paperwork legally sealed. Stand with the entire queer community or sooner or later you’ll be on the right’s chopping block.
Being openly not-straight, of any variety, was punishable as a CRIME in much of the US until 20 years ago. Lawrence v Texas was in 2003.
We’ve had 20 years of safety - based on a SCOTUS ruling based, in large part, on Roe v Wade.
Which, y'know, they overthrew recently, just before it could reach its 50 year mark. And in doing so, Alito mentioned that Lawrence and Griswold were both potential future targets.
Griswold v Connecticut is the 1965 case giving married people the right to access to birth control. They want to overturn that, too.
The conservative & alt-right movements are thrilled to see so much infighting among leftists and the queer communities; it’ll make it so much easier for them to drive in the wedges they’ll use to go after all of us.

And if you want to help them out and have some extra cash, you can make a donation to help them continue their work:
Every reblog and donation is another slap to DeSantis.
If you can, it’s time to warm up that pitching arm.

You’ve been dropped at the very beginning of the Clone Wars. You can tell ONE PERSON that Palpatine is the Sith Lord. That person will be able to ACT on the information but will not be able to PASS ON this information. WHO DO YOU TELL?
Anakin Skywalker
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Padmé Amidala
Commander Fox
R2-D2
Satine Kryze
Captain Rex
Ahsoka Tano
Yoda
Someone else.
See ResultsPlease explain your reasoning in the tags and may the Force be with you.
HERE’S why I voted Artoo.
R2-D2 is an unstoppable Swiss-knife/action hero/killing machine just waiting to be unleashed.
In George’s words:
“[R2 is] the stalwart unsung hero of the Star Wars films.”
His emotions can’t be sensed, he is the messenger of the Keeper of the Whills, you tell R2 Palpatine is Darth Sidious and a week from then Palps will have THE most unlucky day of his life.
I’m talking he steps on an elevator, and nothing is there, he plummets to his death like in a Looney Tunes episode.
But hey, he’s Darth Sidious, maybe he manages to levitate himself before he hits the ground and goes splat. He looks up at the elevator which is weirdly going up instead of going down. Hm. Strange.
He goes to the Senate, his podium lifts up into the arena only for a MASSIVE holo-recording to start playing in the Senate rotunda of Palpatine putting a hood on in The Works’ changing rooms, then meeting with Dooku.
General chaos. But hey, he’s Palpatine, he has a way to spin this, “he had a secret meeting with Dooku to negotiate peace”, of course, because all that matters is ending this godforsaken war-oooaaaahhh!
The Chancellor’s podium DARTS up towards the ceiling at full speed! “System malfunction” says Mas Amedda, “we’re not sure what’s going on!” Seconds before the podium can explode, Palpatine jumps off and lands unscathed, but feigns an injury.
He gets rushed to an infirmary, and is now lying in a hospital bed wandering WTF is going on today?! Is it Tyranus? Has that octogenarian fuck finally decided to step up and become the Sith Master? Tell you what, he knew his apprentice was sneaky but to sink to this level of–
– RIIIIIIIIING! Fire alarm goes off, as do the sprinklers. But they’re not sprinkling water, they’re sprinkling GASOLINE!
R2 SMASHES through the window screaming a primal war cry:

And as he sets the whole room on fire, Palpatine’s last thoughts are “what in the space fu–” and dies.
THAT’S why you tell Artoo and not someone like Yoda.
Artoo has that unhinged maverick energy. He’s just waiting for the opportunity to do some damage.
It doesn’t matter if he’s outgunned.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a Sith Lord.
He’s on a mission from the gods and the plot armor wears him, not the other way round.

today i had dinner at my favorite little hole in the wall mexican restaurant and as i was leaving i made sure to hold the door for an older lady behind me and as i stood outside getting my uber figured out the lady walked back up to me very nervously and said “you’re gonna think i’m a crazy lady but it was just put upon my spirit to tell you this: you’re god’s favorite” and she continued to apologetically tell me how she doesn’t know what it means but she was compelled to tell me that i’m god’s favorite. basically what im saying is so long suckers
this would’ve been normal portland crazy behavior but i wasn’t in portland and she was just totally normal. except that she couldn’t ignore the voice of god telling her to tell me i’m his favorite

Woo boy how exciting.
Getting closer and closer to my dream and starting with a fun little height chart.
This chart was made by parallaxabomination, I found it here via a google search. I was originally searching how to go about creating one (file size, layers, etc.) when I found their sheet. Free to use so long as credit and a link back to them is given.
They are no longer active on deviantART, but they did leave their links to other socials as well as the template up.

growing up with a psychologist for a mother was so funny because my sister and i would be like “mo-om why do we have to go to bed now” and she would respond with a long explanation of the research on the effects of sleep on the brain and body followed by another explanation on permissive vs. authoritarian vs. authoritative parenting styles, with citations
this was actually really good in some instances though because i started having insomnia and intrusive thoughts very young and when little me was like “mom i don’t like the thoughts in my head but i can’t make them go away and i can’t sleep” she replied with “oh honey. active thought suppression never works. in fact, wegner et al. (1987) tested this when they told a bunch of people to talk about whatever they wanted, and they told half of them to try not to think about a white bear. people thought more about the white bear when they were trying not to think about it! but when they told the people to think about a red car whenever thoughts of the white bear came to mind, the people had a much easier time not thinking about the white bear. so you see, you can’t force the thoughts out of your mind. you just have to let them pass through, and pick something else that you want to focus on”
and so ever since i was a very little kid i knew how to deal with intrusive thoughts, I’ve had them my whole life but never developed ocd or senses of shame about them cause my mom did her phd on thought suppression and she knows what’s up

I’m saying this from a place of genuine care: if you are seeing ghosts or shadows or having nightmares… and sageing, eggshells, Crystal’s, and psychics arent cutting it..
Please.. please… check for things like gas leaks, water damage, vermin. I’m not saying your house isnt haunted, I’m just saying that carbon monoxide poisoning looks a LOT like being haunted.
I know that, you know that, but when it looks like supernatural things you look to supernatural solutions and you might not be thinking clearly.
I’m having a conversation with a pagan mom right now who thinks that dark forces are after her, so she’s tried all the things that she knows… which apparently is not checking the hvac system for leaks.
Shes mad at me because I suggested getting an inspection because shes lived in the house for 14 years and she’s always seen things like this and it’s just gotten worse since she took over the house. Shes seeing entities, things are moving on their own, doors open and close on their own, people are being touched and scratched. ‘Mold and gas dont do that!’
Drafty house. Uneven floors. Pressure changes.
Toxic mold syndrome can mimic depression and anxiety, cause listlessness. Guess what extreme anxiety can do. It can mess with your head. It can mess with your memory.
If you have scratches on you and you dont know where they came from, see a doctor. See a doctor. I dont know why you wont see a doctor. They can tell you if it comes from an animal. They can tell you if you’re suffering from a mold allergy. They can tell you if you’re experiencing side effects of gas exposure.
I wholeheartedly believe in ghosts. Absolutley not debating that ghosts and spirits and whatever you think you’re seeing. I am posting this in a pagan facebook group. I 100% believe in ghosts.
I also believe in carbon monoxide.
Please check for gas leaks in your home. Please check for mold. Please check for critters. Like girl I believe you but please check these things.
She… got mad and deleted the post.
This is why we need to stress, and I mean really stress, that mundane explanations are just as important as superstitious ones, and why I genuinely worry about our echo chambers.
Yes, I know we all want to believe that the feelings of dread may be coming from an evil presence in the room, but also certain hvac systems hum at a frequency that causes confusion and anxiety.
Yes it seems reasonable that your doors open and close on their own because granmas ghost is still hanging around. But please consider that the foundation of your house might be shifting.
Yes, you might feel a sense that something bad is going to happen, but that can also be generalized anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorder.
And being in a circle that refuses to accept that mundane explanations for supernatural problems feeds and triggers delusions. The pagan/witchcraft community is extremely neuro diverse, and these delusions can trigger spirals and put people in very… very bad places.
Please accept mundane explanations.
You are not 'crazy’ for seeing ghosts and your house is not dirty for needing an inspection.
If you get an inspection and it comes back clean, you can feel smug about being right. If you dont get an inspection and you’re wrong you and your children could get sick and die.
Y'all I’m tired.
This is relevant to something else I saw online today from Greg from How to Drink:
With a lot of things in the brain, we don’t have another person’s perspectives to know what’s usually experienced- this is why I know a lot of us have had the, “Wait, that’s an ADHD symptom?” moment. It’s never bad to check out your experiences with a doctor.
as a person with fucked up funny visual/neurological stuff like visual snow and palinopsia (I probably need to get it checked out) yeah this stuff is not normal. Kid me thought my vision was so good that I could see individual molecules but naaaah it’s astigmatism and difficult to diagnose/mostly inconsequential funny stuff with my brain
Additionally: physical conditions can also cause emotional responses. One of the most common but least talked about symptoms of severe illnesses (including anaphylaxis and conditions affecting your heart and blood) is a sense of impending doom.
That’s something I see people describe feeling in a lot of spaces, both religious spaces and ones dedicated to neurodivergency, and it can absolutely be a sign that you’re experiencing allergic reactions or that you have a serious condition that your body is desperately trying to warn you about.
Science and supernatural forces are not incompatible with each other. Believing in supernatural forces does not mean you should reject science.
There is a very famous Reddit post that illustrates this perfectly, although the supernatural was never suspected:
A reply:
OP updated from in the hospital:
This post is basically in the Reddit hall of fame now. Always check for mundane explanations. Always.
(knew somebody who insisted their house was haunted and refused to do anything “normal” about the clearly dangerous moldy spot in their bathroom. I finally suggested- “How do you know that isn’t just the way an evil ghost is messing with you? How do you know it isn’t literally causing the mold to grow, as a way to cause you harm in the living world?” so they finally called somebody, who took care of the evil ghost mold, and their breathing improved. even if you 100% believe in something spiritual or supernatural, sometimes you need to deal with the problem in a mundane way that genuinely works)
